Russian strike on Kyiv: Details revealed
The main purpose of today's Russian massive shelling was to strike Ukrainian infrastructure facilities. Right now, Kyiv is under Russian drone attack from different directions, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
Russian massive attack on Ukraine began at around 3 a.m. with numerous drones. Up to ten units from different directions approached Kyiv, but Ukrainian air defenses successfully destroyed them.
At 5 a.m., the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Russian 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers had taken to the skies, and the Ukrainian Navy recorded 4 missile carriers entering the sea.
"Subsequently, Russia took off with 6 Tu-22M3 strategic bombers, then 3 MiG-31Ks with Kinzhal missiles. All this arsenal was supplemented by ballistic missile launches from Crimea and the western regions of Russia," the head of Kyiv City Military Administration says.
In the morning, Russian cruise missiles came at Kyiv after complex maneuvers, in very dense groups from different directions. After that, the Russians fired several ballistic missiles and an aerial ballistic Kinzhals in the direction of Kyiv in a row.
In total, Ukrainian air defense destroyed about a dozen Russian missiles.
"Right now, Russian drones are attacking Kyiv from different directions. Since the night before, Ukrainian air defense soldiers have already destroyed a total of about a dozen Russian drones heading for Kyiv. The air alert in Kyiv has been in place for over 6 hours," he adds.
In particular, as of now:
- there are no damages or injuries in Kyiv;
- Ukrenergo has ordered emergency power cuts;
- all the Unbreakability Points have been deployed in the capital
In the end, the head of Kyiv City Military Administration adds that the situation in Kyiv is under control.
