Residents are being evacuated due to the ongoing danger
Because of the extensive damage, rescuers are evacuating residents from one of the apartment buildings.
The regional military administration warned that the threat to civilians remains high, as unexploded ordnance has been found in the area.
Residents are urged to stay in safe locations and strictly follow the instructions of police officers and emergency responders.
Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia
Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region have been under frequent Russian attacks in recent weeks. On July 9, Russian forces struck a gas station in the regional capital with a drone. The attack sparked a large fire, and one man was injured.
A day earlier, on July 8, the Russian military launched several guided aerial bomb strikes on the city. The attack left thousands of residents without electricity and damaged a local business and a garage cooperative.
The threat of further Russian strikes remains high, and authorities continue to urge residents to stay in shelters during air raid alerts.
