Russian strike destroys Olena Zelenska Foundation warehouse in Kyiv

In Kyiv, a Russian attack this morning completely destroyed a warehouse belonging to the Olena Zelenska Foundation. The facility stored humanitarian aid for children, hospitals and educational institutions, according to a post by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
Damage from the strike and destroyed property
A fire broke out at the warehouse after it was hit, completely destroying the facility, along with material aid provided by the foundation’s partners.
According to the organization, no one was injured in the attack. Emergency Service crews worked at the scene.
The warehouse stored supplies that were being prepared for delivery to various regions of Ukraine:
- generators and household appliances;
- laptops, tablets and e-readers for children’s education;
- medical equipment for hospitals.

How this will affect aid distribution
The foundation warned that due to the loss of material assets and premises, some aid may be delivered to people and institutions later than planned.
The organization’s team is already restructuring supply chains to quickly restore deliveries and provide everything necessary to all recipients.
Drone attack on Kyiv
Earlier, Kyiv came under a series of attacks by Russian drones overnight and in the morning of September 15-16.
Explosions and falling debris caused fires and damage to civilian infrastructure in several districts of the capital.
In particular, during the night of September 16, after the air raid alert was lifted, a warehouse building caught fire in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynskyi district.
In addition, during the previous wave of attacks on September 15, Russian forces struck a gas station and warehouses in the capital.
That same day, a McDonald’s restaurant in Kyiv was damaged by the strikes.
