The state-owned company Russian Railways claims to have experienced a massive DDoS attack, which caused its website and mobile app to go offline.

"Our website and mobile app have been subjected to a massive DDoS attack. We are working to restore their operation as quickly as possible. Ticket sales at stations and terminals are operating as usual, and ticket sales continue in the regular mode," said the message.

According to the Habr, Russian users are unable to access the Russian Railways website, and the mobile app is freezing as a result of the cyberattack.

Currently, no further details about the situation are being disclosed.

Cyberattack on Ukrzaliznytsia

On March 23, Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railways) experienced a technical failure, which led to problems with online ticket sales, service ordering, and information inquiries. Online ticket sales were restored by March 27.

Later, the company explained that it does not store personal passenger data or information about military cargo, so there is no need to worry about the risk of data leakage.

On March 30, the company restored ticket sales with discounts for people with disabilities and online display boards for major train stations.
