Ukrainian operation in Kursk region

Ukraine's Defense Forces launched their operation in the Kursk region back in August 2024 as a preemptive measure against a Russian offensive planned along the northern border.

Russia is attempting to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region. Moscow has also deployed North Korean troops to the combat zone.

In March, the situation in the region escalated as Russia intensified its offensive operations. In addition, there has been an increase in assault group activity near the border with the Sumy region. According to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service, there has been no border breakthrough, but the enemy continues attacks in small groups.
