Russian night attack on Ukraine: Air defense hits multiple targets
On the night of Tuesday, December 5, Russian troops attacked Ukraine again, using both drones and missiles, according to Southern Defense Forces and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"On the night of December 5, 2023, the enemy attacked with attack UAVs Shahed-136/131 from two directions - Kursk Oblast and Primorsko-Akhtarsk of Russian Federation," the message says.
Ukraine was also attacked by S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, which were directed at civilian objects in the Donetsk and Kherson regions.
A total of 17 Shahed-type strike UAVs and six S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles were recorded.
"As a result of combat work, 10 attack UAVs were destroyed in different regions of Ukraine," the airmen report.
According to the Southern Defense Forces, during a nighttime drone attack in their area of responsibility, air defense units destroyed 4 Shahed-131/136 type UAVs:
Two of the drones were destroyed in the Mykolaiv region, one each in the Kherson and Vinnytsia regions.
Fortunately, there were no hits or casualties.
Drone attack on regions of Ukraine on the night of December 5
Late in the evening of Monday, December 4, the Russian Federation launched several groups of drones in Ukrainian regions. An air alert was announced in the south, center, and west of the country.
It was also reported about the work of air defense and explosions in the Vinnytsia region.
According to the reports of the Air Force, enemy drones flew to the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, it was reported about the work of the Air Defense Forces. Fortunately, there were no casualties or damage to buildings.
