What is known about the ballistic strike in Kharkiv
On January 2 at 02:30 p.m., Kharkiv was shaken by two powerful explosions. The air raid alert sounded almost simultaneously, leaving people unaware of the danger.
At the time of the first report, Mayor Terekhov mentioned significant destruction and 12 casualties. However, the rescue operation has been ongoing for nearly three hours, so the number of people needing assistance continues to grow.
Rescuers, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical teams are working at the scene, providing aid to the injured.
Among those wounded in the Kharkiv explosions are people in serious and moderate condition, according to the director of the Regional Emergency Medical Care Center, Zabashhta. He added that the injured have shrapnel wounds and fractures.
As previously reported by Kharkiv Regional Military Administration head Oleh Syniehubov, there is information that people remain trapped under the rubble.
Ukraine expects that countries that believed Russia’s fake claims about an alleged attack on Putin’s residence will also give a strong response to the strike on Kharkiv, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said.
Meanwhile, Russian propagandists are already spreading statements claiming that the missile strike on a residential building in Kharkiv was a provocation by Ukraine.
