Russians attacked Ukraine with 31 missiles of various types, according to Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.

The Russians attacked with:

  • Iskander-M ballistic missile;
  • Kinzhal aerial ballistic missile;
  • 29 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles.

The Russians launched the cruise missiles from 11 TU-95MS strategic bombers stationed in Volgodonsk and Engels.

According to the commander, the missiles were flying from the north, with the main direction of attack being Kyiv.

"As a result of successful combat work, all enemy missiles were shot down in the Kyiv region," Oleshchuk says.

Russian attack on Ukraine on March 21

On the night of March 21, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the takeoff of 9 TU-95s from the Murmansk region of the Russian Federation.

A few hours later, the bombers launched missiles. A large-scale air alert was announced in Ukraine.

Residents of Kyiv heard explosions. The authorities reported the operation of air defense.

People were injured as a result of the missile attack.
