Russian man suspected of killing 2 Ukrainians arrested in Germany
A Russian citizen suspected of killing two Ukrainian citizens in a shopping center in the German town of Murnau has been arrested, according to reports from AP and DW.
According to the privacy rules in Germany, the names of the victims and the suspect are not disclosed.
The possible motives for the murder are unknown, according to the German authorities.
It is also unknown whether the three men knew each other.
German police are asking for witnesses to provide information about the events leading up to the murder.
Yesterday, April 27, in the town of Murnau, Upper Bavaria, two Ukrainian men aged 23 and 36 were killed. They were stabbed in a shopping center. One died at the scene, the other died in the hospital. A 57-year-old Russian citizen has been arrested on suspicion of committing the murders.
According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the victims of the attack were Ukrainian servicemen undergoing medical rehabilitation.
Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, has instructed the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General in Munich to keep the case under special control.
