Russian losses in the war against Ukraine on August 8: helicopter, 560 soldiers and 19 artillery systems
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff, Russian losses in the war in Ukraine as of the morning of Tuesday, August 8, amounted to 560 soldiers, bringing the total number of Russian military casualties since the beginning of the invasion to 250,800 military personnel. Additionally, Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) destroyed a helicopter and 19 artillery systems.
The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 08.08.23 were approximately:
- personnel ‒ about 250800 (+560) persons were liquidated,
- tanks ‒ 4254 (+10),
- APV ‒ 8278 (+8),
- artillery systems – 4996 (+19),
- MLRS – 709 (+0),
- anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 468 (+1),
- aircraft – 315 (+0),
- helicopters – 312 (+1),
- UAV operational-tactical level – 4158 (+4),
- cruise missiles ‒ 1377 (+0),
- warships / boats ‒ 18 (+0),
- vehicles and fuel tanks – 7460 (+9),
- special equipment ‒ 737 (+2).
Frontline situation as of morning
According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdyansk fronts, consolidating their positions at achieved boundaries. Over the previous day, 37 combat clashes have taken place on the fronts.
In particular, heavy battles are underway on the Svatove front. The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to repel Russian occupying forces south of the settlement of Novoyegorivka, with the aggressors taking control of Novoselivske in the process.
