Regional authorities reported that on the evening of April 5, Russian forces attacked the border town of Semenivka in the Chernihiv region with two FPV drones, damaging a school building, according to a Facebook post by the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District State Administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov.

Enemy attack

According to the district administration head, the strike occurred around 6:30 p.m. Kyiv time. The enemy used two FPV drones aimed at the settlement near the border with Russia.

Consequences for the school

As a result of the shelling, the building of Secondary School No. 5 was damaged. Oleksandr Seliverstov noted that no information about casualties or fatalities has been received so far. The full circumstances and extent of the damage are being clarified.

Terror against civilian infrastructure

The incident is being viewed as another act of targeted terror against civilian infrastructure facilities in the border region.

Local authorities and eyewitnesses emphasize that Russia continues to use strikes on social facilities, including schools, which underscores the terrorist nature of its actions.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi noted that Russian troops are not abandoning their offensive and seek to create a buffer zone in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

According to his information, on the Oleksandrivka direction, the Defense Forces' offensive actions have been ongoing since the end of January, during which control was restored over 480 square kilometers of territory, eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and four in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On Saturday, April 4, Russian troops twice attacked infrastructure facilities of Naftogaz in the Poltava region using drones, resulting in a fire; after the initial strike, the Russian units carried out a second attack.
