Russian troops on Monday, March 17, struck a private house in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. As a result of the attack, three children were injured, according to the National Police of Ukraine.

"Russia targeted a private house. As a result of the strike, two sisters, aged 8 and 15, and their 12-year-old brother were injured," the message reads.

The boy and the older girl will be airlifted to Dnipro, while the younger sister has been hospitalized in Dobropillya.

It has been confirmed that in October 2024, the children were evacuated from the village of Pishchane in the Pokrovsk district to their grandmother’s home in the Poltava region.

An investigative-operational group and the Bilyi Yanhol (White Angel) unit work at the site.

"The enemy is deliberately targeting the civilian population. The police urge parents not to expose their children to danger and to evacuate," emphasized the National Police.

Situation in the Pokrovsk area

In recent months, the Russian troops have been trying to break through the defense in the Pokrovsk direction. This section is one of the most difficult stretches of the front.

Due to constant shelling, local authorities and the police are urging residents of Pokrovsk to evacuate to safer regions.

According to Serhii Dobriak, the head of the Pokrovsk Military Civil Administration, there are still just over 2,500 people in the city. Evacuation efforts have been intensified.
