Russian forces shell Avdiivka and Toretsk with Grad rocket launchers: Casualties reported
The Russian army today, on December 29, attacked residential areas in the Donetsk region with Grad multiple rocket launchers and artillery. Five people were injured as a result of the enemy's attack, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Attack details
Occupiers shelled Krasnohorivka with artillery. Enemy projectiles hit a residential area, injuring a 41-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman. Another 79-year-old was wounded while inside their own home.
"Avdiivka was once again in the occupiers' sights. A 50-year-old resident sustained injuries from the impact on their residence. In critical condition, they were rushed to the hospital for medical attention," the report stated.
Additionally, the enemy targeted Toretsk, causing a 60-year-old woman to sustain shrapnel wounds and a leg fracture on her property. She has been hospitalized.
Investigation initiated
Law enforcement noted that, according to preliminary information, the enemy targeted these residential areas using Grad multiple rocket launchers and artillery.
Prosecutors are taking all necessary steps to document Russia's war crimes against the civilian population of the region.
Pre-trial investigations have commenced regarding violations of laws and customs of war.
Shelling in the Donetsk region
Russians open fire daily on cities and villages in the Donetsk region. Settlements near the frontlines and even those relatively far from the conflict constantly come under attack.
Recently, Russian forces shelled the Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of four individuals.
On December 22, Russians targeted towns in the Donetsk region, leading to the death of one person.
