Nestryha Island liberation by Ukrainian Armed Forces
At the end of April, Ukrainian troops advanced near the village of Veletenske in Kherson Oblast, which is located on the right bank of the Dnipro River.
On April 28, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had regained control of Nestryga island.
However, since then, Russian troops have continued to try to reoccupy the area, storming Ukrainian defenders' positions in the area.
Thus, the day before, it was reported that the Russian occupiers had twice tried to storm the island of Nestryga in the Kherson region. Another 7 assault attempts were made in the area of Krynky, but all failed.
