Russian forces attack Kupiansk in Kharkiv region: A man killed under rubble

Russian forces attacked Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, destroying a residential building. A local resident was killed under the rubble, according to a statement from the Kharkiv region police.
Law enforcement officials reported that at 3:37 p.m. Kyiv time today, Russian forces struck the city of Kupiansk, presumably with guided aerial bombs (KABs).
"A building collapsed and caught fire. Unfortunately, a local resident was killed," the police added.
According to their reports, an investigative team from the Kupiansk District Police Department, forensic experts, and bomb disposal specialists were dispatched to the impact site.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that four more people were injured due to Russian aggression.
According to the investigation, at around 1:25 p.m. Kyiv time, an enemy FPV drone strike was recorded in the village of Vilkhuvatka, Kupiansk district. Two men, aged 65 and 55, were wounded. Private homes were also damaged.
Additionally, in the settlement of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, a house caught fire due to an enemy attack. Two civilians were injured and hospitalized in serious condition.
Moreover, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that today the enemy carried out a UAV strike on a residential area in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
"Two civilians, aged 70 and 63, were injured. They were hospitalized in serious condition," he stated.
Situation in Kupiansk
Kupiansk is a city in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region that has suffered significant destruction and shelling during Russia’s full-scale invasion. In late February 2022, Russian forces occupied Kupiansk, but the city was liberated in September of the same year.
However, even after its liberation, Kupiansk continues to endure regular attacks. Despite the constant shelling, some residents remain in the city, trying to adapt to difficult living conditions.
Notably, according to the General Staff, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Petropavlivka once during the day in the Kupiansk direction, but the attack was successfully repelled.
