Russian floating barriers near Crimean bridge washed away by sea
The Russians tried to protect the Crimean bridge with booms, but they were scattered by the current in the Black Sea, reports Radio Svoboda.
As noted, fragments of the boom barriers were spotted near the Kerch city embankment.
Also, some of these floating objects were brought to the shore by the current in the central district of Kerch.

In the summer of 2024, Russia deployed barges near the Crimean bridge in an attempt to protect it. New satellite images show that the number of barges near the bridge has increased.
A boom barrier is a line of large buoys with a diameter of 1.5 meters or more, fastened with a chain. They are installed to create obstacles to sea waves or moving objects. During the First and Second World Wars, such barriers were used to physically protect naval bases.
Crimean bridge
The Crimean Bridge has been repeatedly attacked by Ukrainian defenders. The Ukrainian command and intelligence have repeatedly emphasized that the bridge is a legitimate target for them.
The Russians are trying to protect the illegal structure because the bridge is the main logistical artery for them in southern Ukraine.
Recently, the network claimed that Russians were preparing for an unprecedented attack on the Crimean bridge. Therefore, additional air defense systems have been deployed to the Kerch region.
