Russia recruits approximately 30,000 new soldiers to its army every month. This allows it to cover losses and continue the war against Ukraine, reports the Ministry of Defence of Britain.

As indicated in the summary, Russian troops continued their gradual advance westward from Avdiivka. Intelligence suggests that by the end of March 2024, Russians may have taken control of two villages - Tonenke and Orlivka.

"Russia has continued attacks along several other points on the frontline, but has made little progress in recent weeks," the British Ministry of Defence notes.

In Britain, it is added that Russia has a significant numerical advantage, particularly in terms of equipment and ammunition.

"It is likely recruiting approximately 30,000 additional personnel a month and can highly likely continue to absorb losses and continue attacks aimed at wearing down Ukrainian forces," the summary states.

Frontline situation

Russian occupiers intensified assaults on the front line in winter. In particular, they managed to capture Avdiivka and some neighboring villages. However, Defense Forces hold positions near Avdiivka, preventing the enemy from advancing further.
