A Russian drone attacked a residential area of Zaporizhzhia overnight on September 12. The strike destroyed a house and sparked fires, and people were initially believed to be trapped under the rubble, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defense Council.

An attack drone threat was announced in Zaporizhzhia shortly after midnight. The city was attacked by a Russian drone soon afterward, striking a residential area.

The strike caused fires and destruction, with at least one house destroyed.

Rescuers pulled two people from under the rubble. Medics are currently examining them.

Unfortunately, one of the victims died, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defense Council, said.

The strike caused fires and destruction, with at least one house destroyed. Rescuers recovered the bodies of two people killed from under the rubble — a 64-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man. A 59-year-old woman was injured.

It should be recalled that just the day before, on September 11, Russia also attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones. A 32-year-old woman and her 10-year-old son were injured, and civilian infrastructure was damaged.

On September 7, meanwhile, a Russian strike caused extensive damage to the city’s largest shopping and entertainment center. The owner of City Mall promised to rebuild it, despite the facility being “effectively destroyed.”

Earlier, on September 5, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with drones for more than two hours. Hits on residential buildings were reported, and six people were injured.
