Russian drone attack on Ukraine: Number of UAVs downed
Russian invaders attacked Ukrainian territory with kamikaze drones of the Shahed type overnight on February 7. The majority of the enemy drones were successfully shot down by the Armed Forces using air defense systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, employing 15 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type," reported the military command in the morning briefing.
It is noted that out of this number of enemy aerial targets, air defense systems destroyed 12 Shahed drones.
Currently, it is not specified where exactly the combat operations took place to repel this aerial attack.
Night drone attack
During the night into Wednesday, there was an air raid alert in many regions of Ukraine due to the launch of several groups of Russian aggressors' attack drones of the Shahed type.
In particular, enemy barrage munitions were heading towards Odesa, Uman, Dnipro, Pavlograd, and other cities in various regions. Air defense systems were actively engaged in the south of the country to repel the enemy's attack, as reported by the Defense Forces.
The Shahed alarm in Ukraine was declared only at 02:40 after the drones launched by Russian forces.
