Russia carried out two strikes on Zaporizhzhia. Six people were injured, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine report.

The Regional Military Administration warned that there is preliminary information about the casualties. Six people were injured, including one teenager.

Two of them, in serious condition, were hospitalized in city medical facilities.

Information about other injured persons is being clarified, and the number of people requiring medical assistance continues to rise.

Local response services continue to operate at the sites, with rescue and medical teams providing assistance to the injured.

A fire broke out in commercial pavilions covering 500 sq.m. Rescuers are extinguishing the fires.

Strike on Zaporizhzhia

In the morning of August 18, explosions were sounded in the Zaporizhzhia region, and an air raid alert was declared due to the threat of a ballistic strike from Russia.

According to the Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, the first explosions were followed by additional ones. The Head of the Administration urged residents to remain in safe places until the alert is lifted.

Official information on the consequences of the strikes is currently being clarified. According to preliminary data, several people were injured and are receiving medical care.

Fedorov added that the Russians are deliberately striking the city’s critical infrastructure. The Presidential Office also responded to the event. Head of Zelenskyy’s office Andriy Yermak emphasized that Putin continues to shell peaceful cities, despite statements about wanting to end the war.
