The home of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk and his family was damaged in a Russian attack.

What happened to the Usyk family home

Usyk's wife, Kateryna, posted a photo of a glass door or window inside the house. The glass itself remained intact, but was completely covered in a dense web of cracks.

She did not provide any details, just captioned the photo with just one English word:

"Home," Kateryna wrote, adding a broken-heart emoji.

It is not yet known exactly when the home was damaged.

Shortly before the post, the family had been vacationing in Spain, and Kateryna only recently announced that they had returned to Ukraine. She did not mention any casualties.

Russian forces have damaged the family home before

This is not the first time the Usyk family's home has been affected by Russia's war against Ukraine.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian troops seized the athlete's home in Vorzel, a town in the Kyiv region.

The occupying forces stationed tanks and armored personnel carriers in the yard. After the town was liberated, the family found the property and the house badly damaged.

Kateryna Usyk later said the building was in poor condition. According to her, the family plans to completely demolish the house in the future.
