Russian army attacked Ukraine at night with missiles and Shahed drones
Throughout the night, Russian forces targeted Ukrainian territory with aviation missiles and kamikaze drones. Thanks to the efforts of air defense forces, all of the attacks were either intercepted or failed to reach their intended targets, according to the command of the Ukrainian Air Force.
What the enemy used for the air attack
According to the military department, during the night of October 5, Russian occupiers launched a total of:
- 3 guided aviation missiles X-59/69 (fired from Kursk and occupied Crimea);
- 13 strike drones (launched from Kursk and the Chayuda Cape in Crimea).
Repelling the attack
"As a result of the air battle, 3 enemy drones were shot down in the Odesa region. 10 hostile drones were also location-lost in the north and south of the country, and no information has been reported regarding casualties or damage," military sources stated.
The Air Force noted that Russian missiles also failed to reach their targets due to electronic warfare efforts.
"Anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of Ukraine's Defense Forces were engaged in repelling the enemy air assault," the military reported.
