Russian agent sentenced to 15 years for coordinating missile strikes on Ukraine's Odesa and Zhytomyr

An additional Russian agent was sentenced to up to 15 years in prison with property confiscation. The traitor coordinated Russian missile attacks on Odesa and Zhytomyr, the Security Service of Ukraine reported.
According to the case materials, the offender coordinated Russian missile and drone attacks on the Defense Forces, specifically targeting the headquarters and logistics centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The investigation revealed that the targeting was carried out by a 19-year-old resident of Odesa, who was remotely recruited by an FSB officer from Moscow and the Moscow region. The Russian intelligence officer used a Telegram channel to recruit the traitor, who was seeking easy earnings.
Initially, the agent was tasked with carrying out enemy assignments in Odesa, but later he was deployed to Zhytomyr. There, he rented an apartment near a military unit to determine the time intervals of the highest concentration of personnel and equipment at the facility.
The enemy planned to use this information to inflict maximum damage during an airstrike on the military base.
Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers thwarted the occupiers' plans by exposing the agent at an early stage of his espionage activities.
After securing the locations of the Defense Forces and documenting the traitor's crimes, he was caught red-handed in June 2024 while spying near a restricted facility. Authorities seized the detainee's phone, which contained evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.
Based on the evidence collected by the SBU investigators, the panel of judges found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed during martial law).
