Russian advance stopped? 59th Brigade reports on situation near Pokrovsk
Russian troops have somewhat slowed down their offensive operations near Pokrovsk. The enemy has begun preparing for defense, according to a statement by Sergeant Serhii Tsekhotsky of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk.
"On certain sections, they have started digging trenches to hold their positions. During the mass assaults, the enemy did indeed reduce the number of artillery shellings because they were unsure where to shoot – distinguishing between their own and enemy positions," noted the officer of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade.
He explained that fighting is still ongoing near Pokrovsk.
"Our task is to exhaust the enemy, which we are doing, we're destroying them," added Tsekhotsky.
Situation in Pokrovsk
In recent months, the Pokrovsk direction has become one of the hottest fronts. Russian troops are trying by all possible means to break through the defenses of Ukrainian defenders.
The authorities have repeatedly appealed to residents of the region, urging them to evacuate urgently.
It is important to note that evacuation is now mandatory for families with children.
At the same time, it should be reminded that due to safety concerns, evacuation trains will no longer depart from Pokrovsk. They will now run from Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
RBC-Ukraine has also recently visited Pokrovsk. More about the situation in this frontline city can be found in our report.
