On the night of September 20, Russia launched 579 drones and 40 missiles, including ballistic missiles, at Ukraine. Most of the targets were destroyed by air defense forces, but there were hits, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Russians launched:

  • 579 Shahed drones and various types of imitation drones from the directions of Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • 8 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from Yeysk and Crimea;
  • 32 Kh-101 cruise missiles from the airspace of the Saratov region.

During the attack, the enemy used traditional tactics - a simultaneous strike on specific targets with a large number of missiles and UAVs of various types. Tactical aviation, in particular F-16 fighters, repelled the enemy's cruise missiles.

Air defense forces neutralized 583 targets - 552 drones, 2 ballistic missiles, and 29 Kh-101 missiles.

“Ballistic and cruise missiles and 23 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 10 locations, with debris falling at 10 locations,” the Ukrainian Air Force reported.

Consequences of the Russian attack

On the night of September 20, the Russians attacked a number of cities in Ukraine. In Dnipro, a direct hit by a missile with cluster munitions was recorded in a high-rise building. One person was killed and 26 were injured as a result of the attack.

The Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions were also targeted.
