Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of December 6

Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled more than 20 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russians' attacks
Over the past day, the enemy conducted a total of 4 missile and 104 aviation strikes, as well as 101 artillery shelling from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure suffered destruction and damage.
During the night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 50 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 41 combat UAVs.
The following areas experienced aviation strikes: Kostobobriv in the Chernihiv region; Novodmytrivka in the Sumy region; Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Spirne, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Oleksandrivka, Novomykhailivka, Urozhaine in the Donetsk region; Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region; Tyahynka, Krynyky, and Lvove in the Kherson region.
Over 100 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
The frontline situation
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to critical directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region and Novoselivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 26 enemy attacks in the areas of Serebryanske Forestry Area and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. The engagements also took place in Terniv, Spirne, Vesele, Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops successfully thwarted 10 enemy attacks in the regions of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment, and consolidating their positions on achieved frontlines.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders persist in holding back the enemy, which continues its attempts to encircle Avdiivka. The Ukrainian Forces resiliently maintain their defense, causing significant losses to the adversary. Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 25 enemy attacks in the areas east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, northeast of Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Siversky, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 18 attacks.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack in the area south of Zolota Niva in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled all enemy attacks attempting to regain lost ground in the areas west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Melitopol direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces actively engage in operations, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and exhausting the enemy along the entire frontline.
In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, engaging in counter-battery warfare and delivering artillery strikes on the enemy's rear positions.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
During the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense aviation conducted 15 strikes on areas with concentrations of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment, targeting 4 command posts and 3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy.
Additionally, Ukrainian Air Defense Forces successfully destroyed a Russian Su-24M bomber.
Enemy losses
Units of the missile forces have struck targets in 6 areas with concentrations of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment. The strikes also targeted 1 command post, 1 ammunition depot, 2 electronic warfare stations, and 11 artillery systems of the enemy.
