Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of September 10

The defense forces continue their advance in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. Ukrainian military forces have achieved certain successes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Russian attacks
Russia conducted another airstrike using Iranian Shahed-136/131 combat UAVs in the Kyiv region. Working in coordination with air defense and other components of the defense forces, the Air Force managed to destroy 26 out of 33 enemy Shaheds.
In total, the enemy launched five missile strikes and 81 airstrikes, along with 27 salvos from rocket artillery systems targeting our military positions and civilian settlements.
Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. More than 100 private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
The frontline situation
The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains challenging.
During the past 24 hours, there have been 25 combat engagements.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary conducted airstrikes in the areas near Kostiantynivka in the Sumy region and Vesele and Ohirtsove in the Kharkiv region.
More than 25 populated areas, including Hremiach in Chernihiv region; Shalyhyne, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Iskriskivshchyna in Sumy region; and Karaiche, Zemlianky in Kharkiv region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kupiansk direction, the adversary conducted airstrikes in the areas of Synkivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka in the Kharkiv region, and Novoselivka in the Luhansk region.
Synkivka, Kucheriivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, and Krokhmalne in the Kharkiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Lyman direction, Novoehorivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, as well as Spirne in the Donetsk region, experienced aerial strikes.
Over 20 populated areas, including Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Siversk, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Berestove, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region, were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defense forces are successfully holding back the adversary in the areas of Orihovo-Vasylivka, Klishchiivka, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. However, aerial strikes targeted Khromove and New York in the Donetsk region.
Over 25 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Keramik and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an aerial strike in the vicinity of Avdiivka.
More than 10 populated areas, including Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Karlivka, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, experienced artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 11 enemy attacks in the Maryinka area during the day. Approximately 15 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Illinka, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, and Yelyzavetivka in Donetsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted aerial strikes in the Staromykhailivka area of the Donetsk region. About 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarsk, Novomykhailivka, and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, experienced artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled an enemy attack in the Robotyne area of Zaporizhzhia region. Meanwhile, aerial strikes targeted Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Over 30 populated areas, including Malynivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region, were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted aerial strikes in the areas of Burhunky in the Kherson region, as well as on the islands of Pervomaiske and Zmiinyi. Artillery and mortar shelling targeted Berislav, Tomarine, Antonivka, Kherson, and Veletenske in the Kherson region.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Bakhmut direction, conducting assault actions, defeating the enemy, and gradually liberating the occupied territories.
As a result of the assault operations, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have achieved partial success in the areas of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region, displacing the enemy from their positions and consolidating their gains.
Enemy losses
Over the course of the day, the aircraft of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out 10 strikes on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated.
Units of the missile troops struck eight enemy artillery pieces.
