Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of September 2

Russian invaders are making unsuccessful advances on three eastern fronts, states the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
Russian attacks
During the past 24 hours, the enemy launched two missile strikes and conducted 34 aviation strikes, along with 42 shelling incidents using multiple rocket launchers on the positions of Ukrainian forces and populated areas.
As a result of these Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage.
The likelihood of missile and aerial strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
The frontline situation
Over the course of the day, more than 15 skirmishes took place.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanskyi fronts, the enemy conducted an aerial strike in the vicinity of Chuhunivka, Kharkiv region. They also carried out mortar and artillery shelling of over 20 populated areas, including Hrinivka, Karpovychi, Leonivka in Chernihiv region, Ukrainske, Shalyhyne, Kostiantynivka, Veselivka, Riasne, Hrabovske in Sumy region, and Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve, Vovchanski Khutory, Varvariivka, Potykhonove in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyinsk direction, enemy shelling affected Kamianka and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the vicinity of Novoehorivka, Luhansk region. They carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Kharkiv region, as well as Novoehorivka and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region.
More than 10 populated areas were subjected to enemy artillery shelling, including Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Yampolivka, Dronivka, Verkhniokamyanske, Vyiimka, Vesele, and Pryvillia in Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, over 15 populated areas experienced enemy artillery shelling, including Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area east of Severne in the Donetsk region. They shelled the populated areas of Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Avdiivka, Stepove, Novokalynove in the Donetsk region, using artillery and mortars.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area south of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Populated areas of Oleksandrivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Kostiantynivka, and Yelizavetivka in the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling.
In the Shakhtar direction, the enemy conducted aerial strikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Staromykhailivskyi in the Donetsk region. The enemy shelled over 10 populated areas with artillery, including Vodiane, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Staromykhailivske, Novosilka, and Zelene Pole in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Robitnyk in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over 15 populated areas, including Levadne, Malynivka, Hulyaipole, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Pyatyhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region, were subjected to enemy artillery shelling.
In the Kherson direction, more than 10 populated areas experienced enemy shelling, including Mykhailivka, Novoberislav, Mykolayivka, Tyahinka, Kherson, and Pervomaiske in the Kherson region.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, consolidate their positions at the achieved frontlines, and conduct counter-battery measures.
Russian losses
The aviation of the defense forces conducted nine strikes on the areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration during the day, and two strikes on enemy air defense missile systems.
Units of missile troops and artillery struck five areas of personnel, weaponry, and military equipment concentration, 12 artillery pieces on firing positions, two ammunition depots, two command posts, and one enemy air defense missile system during the day.
