Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 24

Over the past day, January 23, 136 combat clashes took place on the front line. Russian troops were most active in assaults in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 90 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, dropping 223 guided aerial bombs.
7,615 kamikaze drones were used for strikes, and 3,840 shelling attacks were carried out on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas, including 54 from multiple launch rocket systems.
The Russians carried out air strikes, including the areas of the settlements of Bratske in Dnipropetrovsk region; Vozdvyzhivka, Dolynka, Zaliznychne, Rizdvianka, Ternuvate, Verkhniia Tersa, Charivne, Tavriiske in Zaporizhzhia region.
Aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck seven areas of concentration of enemy personnel and equipment, a command post, and an enemy artillery system.
Situation by directions
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, over the past day, the enemy carried out five air strikes, dropped 11 aerial bombs, and conducted 73 shelling attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops, two of them from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, our troops repelled five enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Vovchanski Khutory, Ambarne, and toward the settlement of Nesterne.
In the Kupiansk direction, yesterday our warriors repelled one enemy attack toward Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 12 times, trying to wedge into our defenses in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivka, Tverdokhlibove, Drobyshcheve, Torske, Yampil, and toward the settlements of Lyman, Stavky, Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks near Siversk.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian units repelled three enemy attacks toward the settlements of Nykyforivka and Minkivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 20 attacks by units in the areas of the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, and toward Illinivka, Stepanivka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 41 assault actions in the areas of the settlements of Dorozhnie, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Filiia, and toward the settlements of Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Shevchenko, Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out five attacks yesterday in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrohrad, Zlahoda, and toward Dobropillia, Ivanivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces repelled 22 Russian attacks in the areas of Solodke, Huliaipole, and toward Sviatopetrivka, Zelene, Varvarivka.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled one enemy attack toward Pavlivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russians did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
Russia’s losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 1,233,020 military personnel.
Over the past day, the losses of the Russian army amounted to 930 personnel.
Ukrainian warriors also neutralized four tanks, three armored combat vehicles, 31 artillery systems, one air defense system, 772 operational-tactical level unmanned aerial vehicles, and 88 units of automotive equipment.
