Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of January 13

As of 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 72 combat engagements have taken place along the frontline. The Pokrovsk direction remains the hottest. The Russian army has assaulted Ukrainian defensive positions there 28 times, according to the General Staff.
Enemy artillery fire hit areas near several settlements, including Kucherivka, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Sukhodil, and Bezsalivka in the Sumy region.
The situation on the front lines
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian forces carried out 88 shelling attacks, eight of them using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, three enemy attacks were recorded near the settlements of Prylipka and Dehtiarne. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces advanced twice toward Petropavlivka and Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, four combat engagements took place near the settlement of Kolodiazi and toward Lypove and Stavky.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched two attacks near the settlements of Dronivka and Fedorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled two attacks near Stupochky and toward Pryvillia.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, ten enemy attacks were repelled near the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Berestok, and Yablunivka, as well as toward Sofiivka. Three combat engagements are currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, 28 enemy assaults were recorded near the settlements of Shakhove, Fedorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, and Udachne, as well as toward Filiia and Novopavlivka. Twenty-six attacks were repelled, while two battles are still underway.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled five enemy attacks near the settlements of Rybne, Yehorivka, and Solodke.
In the Huliaipole direction, eight Russian attacks were repelled near Huliaipole and toward Dobropillia, with four combat engagements still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, no enemy attacks have been recorded so far.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces carried out an assault near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
Russia’s losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,220,950 troops. In the past day alone, Russian losses amounted to 950 personnel.
