Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 26

Over the past day, December 25, 121 combat clashes were recorded along the front line. Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck three command posts, one other key enemy facility, and additional targets belonging to Russian occupying forces, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, yesterday the enemy carried out one missile strike and 66 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 172 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces launched 3,614 attacks, including 90 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 5,804 kamikaze drones.
The aggressor conducted airstrikes, in particular, on areas near the settlements of Oleksandrivka in Dnipropetrovsk region; Novotiagynka in Kherson region; Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Ternuvate, Bilohiria, Verkhnia Tersa, Staroukrainka, Liubytske, Zelene, and Boikove in Zaporizhzhia region; and Zatoka in Odesa region.
“Over the past day, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck three areas where enemy personnel were concentrated, three command posts, one other important enemy facility, and two artillery systems of Russian occupiers,” the statement said.
Situation by directions
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack over the past day. The enemy carried out one airstrike using a guided aerial bomb and launched 107 shelling attacks, two of them from multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attempted seven times to break through Ukrainian defensive lines near the settlements of Vovchansk and Dvorichanske, as well as toward Vilcha.
In the Kupiansk direction, one enemy attack was recorded yesterday. Ukrainian defenders repelled assault actions toward Hlushkivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out nine attacks, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Novoselivka, Stavky, Novoserhiivka, and toward Ozerne and Zarichne.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped five enemy attempts to advance near Siversk and Serebrianka over the past day.
In the Kramatorsk direction, one combat clash was recorded near the settlement of Novomarkove.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy launched 15 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Kleban-Byk, Shcherbynivka, and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 28 enemy assault actions near the settlements of Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Leontovychi, Kotlyne, Molodetske, Filiia, Dachne, Hryshyne, and toward Novopavlivka, Nove Shakhove, Kucheriv Yar, and Novoekonomichne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out 15 attacks over the past day near Pryvilne, Rybne, Krasnohirskе, Zelenyi Hai, Vorone, Yalta, Oleksandrohrad, and toward Iskra, Vyshneve, and Yehorivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, seven enemy attacks were recorded near Uspenivka and Huliaipole, as well as toward Dobropillia.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack near the settlement of Pavlivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,202,070 military personnel, including 840 over the past day alone.
In addition, Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed three tanks, three armored combat vehicles, 74 artillery systems, one air defense system, 537 drones, and 180 vehicles belonging to the enemy.
Ukrainian defenders continue to inflict heavy losses on occupying forces in both manpower and equipment while systematically weakening the enemy’s offensive capabilities in rear areas.
