Over the course of December 22, the enemy carried out massive air and drone strikes, as well as dozens of attempts to assault Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the east and south of the country, according to a Telegram post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Frontline situation as of the evening

As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on December 22, a total of 190 combat engagements had been recorded since the start of the day. Ukrainian defenders continue to repel enemy attempts to push deeper into the country, inflicting significant losses.

Airstrikes and attacks

Throughout the day, the enemy carried out 10 airstrikes, using 31 guided aerial bombs. In addition, 2,924 kamikaze drones were deployed, and 2,853 attacks were launched against Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, six attacks were recorded, with the enemy carrying out 110 attacks, including the use of multiple launch rocket systems.a

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, six assaults took place in the areas of Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Vovchansk, Dvorichanske, as well as toward Vilcha and Kolodiazne.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, the Defense Forces repelled 18 offensive actions near several settlements, including Pishchane, Zahryzove, Serednie, and Myrne.

In the Sloviansk direction, six attacks were recorded, while no combat engagements occurred in the Kramatorsk direction.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, 23 combat engagements took place, seven of which are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 56 attacks. According to preliminary data, 174 occupiers were neutralized, including 132 killed, and enemy equipment was destroyed or damaged.

In the Oleksandrivka, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv directions, more than 30 attacks were repelled. Enemy aviation carried out strikes on several settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region.

No combat engagements were recorded in the Prydniprovskyi direction.

On the evening of December 22, Odesa was again targeted by Russian strike drones. The attack caused damage to port infrastructure facilities, and a civilian vessel in the strike area was also affected.

Drone technology has become one of the key factors in countering Russian occupiers, accounting for over 60% of enemy target eliminations on the frontline. Both aerial and ground drones have already carried out thousands of combat and support missions, significantly strengthening the capabilities of the Defense Forces.
