Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 12

As of 10:00 PM on December 12, a total of 161 combat engagements had taken place along the front line. The highest number of clashes was recorded in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kostiantynivka directions, according to a report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian strikes
Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 26 air strikes, using three missiles and dropping 72 guided aerial bombs. They also conducted 2,119 kamikaze drone strikes and 2,872 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.
Frontlines update
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk areas, Russian forces carried out 119 attacks, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, four combat engagements took place near the settlements of Vovchansk, Synelnykove, Kolodiazne, and Dvorichanske.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces carried out four attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Pishchane, Nova Kruhliakivka, and Kurylivka.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces assaulted the positions of Ukrainian defenders 24 times near the settlements of Serednie, Zarichne, Drobysheve, and toward Druzhheliubivka, Novoserhiivka, Novyi Myr, Stavky, Oleksandrivka, Novoselivka, Lyman, and Chervonyi Stav.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled six Russian forces attacks. Russian units attempted to advance near Torske, Serebrianka, Pereizne, and Yampil.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks toward the settlements of Pryvillia and Minkivka. One combat engagement is currently ongoing.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces assaulted Ukrainian positions 20 times near the settlements of Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, and Sofiivka. One combat engagement is currently ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 37 attempts to push back Ukrainian units. The heaviest fighting was recorded near Pokrovsk, Nykanorivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Filiia, and toward Dorozhnie, Bilytske, Myrnohrad, Novopavlivka, Sukhetske, Rivne, Hryshyne, and Leontovychi. Four combat engagements are currently ongoing.
According to preliminary data, in this direction, Ukrainian forces eliminated 109 and wounded 40 Russian forces personnel. One vehicle, four units of special equipment, one electronic warfare station, 11 motorcycles, one artillery piece, and 10 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed. One unit of special equipment and 11 personnel shelters were damaged.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian forces carried out 18 attacks near the settlements of Vorone, Pryvillia, Verbove, Oleksiivka, Pryvilne, and Zelenyi Hai, as well as toward Oleksandrohrad, Vyshneve, Rybne, Krasnohirskе, Sosnivka, and Zlahoda. Russian forces also carried out air strikes using guided aerial bombs on Dobropasove and Velykomykhailivka.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian troops repelled 16 Russian forces attacks near the settlements of Pryvillia and Solodke, and toward Dobropillia, Huliaipole, and Novyi Zaporizhzhia. Russian forces conducted air strikes on the areas of Bratske, Huliaipole, and Rizdvianka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defensive positions four times near the settlements of Prymorske and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, four Russian forces attacks were repelled.
No significant changes were recorded in other directions.
UAF successes on front
On December 12, the Khartiia National Guard Corps reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine had liberated the villages of Kondrashivka and Radkivka, as well as several neighborhoods in northern Kupiansk, Kharkiv region. This allowed Ukrainian forces to cut off Russian forces' supply routes and significantly stabilize the situation in the Kupiansk direction.
Following the successful operation, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Kupiansk.
