Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 6

As of 4:00 PM Kyiv time on December 6, 77 combat clashes occurred along the front during the day, with the highest number of battles recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian shelling
Today, communities in border settlements were hit by Russian artillery fire, including Klyusy and Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region.
Frontline situation
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian troops carried out 72 shellings of Ukrainian positions and settlements since the start of the day, including two strikes with multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy attacks. Russian troops are attempting to advance near Vovchansk, Synelnykove, and toward Izbytske and Kolodiazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions six times near Pishchane and Kolisnykivka. One combat clash is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Tverdokhlibove, and Zarichne, as well as toward Novoserhiivka, Novyi Myr, and Stavky. Three clashes are ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six attacks. Russian units attempted to advance near Yampil, Dronivka, Serebrianka, Siversk, and Fedorivka. One clash is ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the Russian army carried out 14 assaults near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, and toward Stepanivka and Berestok. One clash is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces made 21 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Novyi Shakhove, Novopavlivka, and the settlements of Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Molodetske. Ukrainian forces have repelled 20 attacks so far. One battle is ongoing.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops are attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Yalta, Ivanivka, Zelenyi Hai, Vorone, Rybne, and toward Danylivka. Ukrainian forces repelled five assaults, and two attacks are ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, seven combat clashes occurred toward Huliaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy carried out one unsuccessful attack near Stepove.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces did not conduct offensive actions.
In other directions, there were no significant changes.
Russian losses in the war against Ukraine
From December 5 to 6, Russia lost 1,180 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed 31 artillery systems, 487 drones, and 130 vehicles.
Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost over 1.2 million personnel in combat against Ukraine.
