Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of December 4

As of 10:00 PM on December 4, a total of 154 combat engagements took place on the front during the day. The highest number was recorded in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Today, the Russian forces carried out 38 airstrikes and dropped 119 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 3,207 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,875 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
Frontline updates
In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the Russian forces carried out one airstrike, dropped two guided bombs, and carried out 98 strikes, including one using multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the South-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian troops stopped four Russian assaults in the areas of Izbytske, Prylipka and Synelnykove.
In the Kupiansk and Kramatorsk directions, the Russian forces conducted no offensive actions since the beginning of the day.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions nine times near Hrekivka, Drobysheve, Zarichne and Oleksandrivka. One engagement is ongoing.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defence Forces repelled 11 Russian attacks near Yampil, Dronivka, Serebrianka and Siversk. Another engagement is currently underway.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces carried out 15 attacks on Defence Forces positions. The main assault efforts were concentrated near Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Kostiantynivka, Mykolaipillia, Torske and toward Berestok and Sofiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian assault units attempted 51 times to break through Ukrainian defences near Shakhove, Nove Shakhove, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Vilne, Novoekonomichne, Rodynske, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Svitlyi, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske and Dachne.
Fighting continues in four locations.
"Today, in this direction, Ukrainian soldiers neutralised 127 Russian personnel, 83 of them irreversibly. They also destroyed 13 UAVs, one mortar, two vehicles, and 11 pieces of Russian special equipment. In addition, Ukrainian troops struck two more vehicles and one artillery system," the report states.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the Russian forces attacked 19 times near Zelenyi Hai, Yalta, Oleksandrohrad, Sosnivka, Stepove, Verbove, Pryvilne, Vyshneve, Pavlivka, Krasnohirskyi and Rybne. Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped all attacks.
In the Hulyaipole direction, the Defence Forces repelled 12 attacks near Zatyshshia, Hulyaipole and toward Pryluky. The Russian forces conducted airstrikes on Staroukrainka, Ternuvate and Hulyaipole.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian troops successfully stopped a Russian attempt to breach positions near Prymorske. The settlements of Stepnohirske, Hryhorivka and Veselianka suffered strikes from guided bombs.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian forces made an unsuccessful attempt to advance toward the Antonivskyi Bridge.
In other directions, the situation did not change significantly.
Russian losses
As reported, over the past day (December 3–4), the Russian forces lost 1,140 personnel on the front. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 29 artillery systems, 125 vehicles, and 245 drones.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, total Russian losses have reached nearly 1.2 million personnel, including both killed and wounded.
