Ukraine’s defence forces continue to maintain operational initiative along key sections of the front, repelling constant attacks by Russian forces and disrupting their attempts to advance in several directions, according to the General Staff.

According to the General Staff, by the evening of 23 November, a total of 177 combat engagements had been recorded.

Russian forces continued to rely heavily on aviation and drones, carrying out 39 airstrikes, dropping 102 guided aerial bombs, and launching 3,777 loitering munitions.

In addition, Ukrainian positions and populated areas came under 3,696 attacks over the past day.

North and Slobozhanshchyna

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Russian forces carried out eight attacks, used two guided aerial bombs, and conducted more than one hundred strikes.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi sector, Ukrainian troops stopped assaults near Vovchansk and Synelnykove, having already repelled three attacks, with one engagement still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, defenders repelled three attempts by Russian forces to advance near Stepova Novoselivka and Petropavlivka.

Eastern directions

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian units halted six attacks in the areas of Novoyehorivka, Serednie, Zarichne, and toward Novyi Mir.

In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled seven assaults, with one battle continuing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attempted to advance twice near Tymchasovyi Yar and Travneve.

Donetsk direction

In the Kostyantynivka sector, 29 attacks were recorded, all unsuccessful for Russian forces.

In the Pokrovsk area, Russian forces launched 55 assault attempts in the vicinity of Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Nykanorivka, Pokrovsk, and other settlements.

Ukraine’s defence forces eliminated 42 Russian troops, wounded 31, and destroyed 25 drones, three vehicles, two tanks, four UAV control points, and thirteen shelters.

Southern directions

In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian units stopped 20 attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Sosnivka, Oleksiivka, and nearby settlements.

In the Huliaipole direction, 16 assaults were repelled, and six more in the Orikhiv direction.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces attempted two attacks toward the Antonivskyi bridge, both unsuccessful.

Senator Lindsey Graham stated that the peace agreement drafted by Washington needs additional scrutiny and should be reviewed by Congress. In his view, lawmakers must evaluate the transparency of the document and whether it contains real security mechanisms capable of preventing a renewed attack, calling the plan a potential chance for a dignified and just end to the war.

Meanwhile, American and Ukrainian officials involved in the talks say Washington is considering inviting Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States. According to media reports, such a visit could take place as early as next week if the Geneva consultations conclude successfully, and could be organised in the context of Donald Trump’s efforts to finalise a peace plan that he aims to approve by Thanksgiving on 27 November.
