Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of November 22

As of 10:00 PM on 22 November, a total of 157 combat engagements had taken place along the front line. As usual, the largest number occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian strikes
Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 32 airstrikes, using one missile and dropping 75 guided aerial bombs. They also launched 2,748 loitering munitions and carried out 3,243 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
Frontline updates
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks by Russian forces. They conducted one airstrike, dropped three guided bombs and carried out 111 attacks, including two with multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian units held back three assaults by Russian forces near Vovchansk, Lyman and Synelnykove.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six attacks in the areas of Pishchane, Petropavlivka and Kupiansk.
Two combat engagements took place near Novoselivka in the Lyman direction.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian forces carried out ten assaults in the areas of Serebrianka, Siversk, Sviato-Pokrovske, Pazene and Dronivka. Ukrainian defenders halted nine of these assaults.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukraine’s forces successfully repelled one assault by Russian forces toward Kostyantynivka.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, Shcherbynivka, Yablunivka, Ivanopillia, Stepanivka and toward Mykolaipillia. The defence forces held their ground and repelled 15 assaults.
During the day in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces carried out 34 offensive actions. Their activity was recorded near Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Nykanorivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novopidhorodne, Pokrovsk, Rivne, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Molodetske, Dachne and Filiia.
According to the General Staff, 83 Russian troops were neutralised in this direction during the day, including 60 killed. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 24 drones and two pieces of specialised equipment, and struck two artillery systems, two vehicles and one multiple-launch rocket system.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Ukrainian units repelled 16 assaults by Russian forces near Sosnivka, Verbove, Pryvilne, Berezove, Stepove, Krasnohirske, Oleksiivka, Yehorivka and Zlahoda. Airstrikes were recorded near Velykomykhailivka, Ostapivske and Kosivtseve.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 18 assaults near Yablukove, Zatyshshia, Varvarivka, Pryluky, Huliaipole, Malynivka and Vysoke. Airstrikes hit Varvarivka, Ternuvate and Bilohiria.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces launched two assaults near Mala Tokmachka and Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces tried three times to approach Ukrainian defensive positions near the Antonivskyi bridge but failed. They also carried out an airstrike on Olhivka.
Russian losses
Over the past day, Russian forces lost 1,170 personnel on the front line.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed four tanks, seven armoured vehicles, nine artillery systems and 222 operational-tactical drones.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian losses have reached about 1,163,440 personnel.
