Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of October 25

Ukrainian defenders continue to hold Russian forces across the entire front line. Over the past 24 hours, more than 140 combat engagements were recorded, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
"The 1,340th day of Russia's full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly repelling enemy attacks, inflicting significant losses," the General Staff said.
In total, 141 combat engagements were recorded over the past day. According to updated information, the enemy carried out two missile strikes and 67 airstrikes, used three missiles, and dropped 141 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, Russian forces conducted 4,534 shelling attacks, including 74 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 5,707 kamikaze drones.
The aggressor carried out airstrikes on the following settlements: Kharkiv in Kharkiv region; Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region; Nechaivka, Andriivka, Bratske, Pokrovske in Dnipropetrovsk region; Sadove and Olhivka in Kherson region; and Zmiyenkove in Odesa region.
Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck five enemy concentration areas, targeting personnel, weapons, and military equipment, including artillery.
Situation by direction
In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled one enemy attack. The enemy also carried out three airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs and conducted 181 shelling attacks, including four from MLRS.
In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 14 times near Vovchansk, Odradne, Bolohivka, and Kamianka.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were four enemy attacks. Ukrainian defenders repelled assaults near Stepova Novoselivka and toward Pishchane.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked ten times, attempting to breach defenses near Karpivka, Serednie, Myrne, Drobysheve, and Shandryholove.
In the Sloviansk direction, five breakthrough attempts were recorded near Vyimka, Serebrianka, and toward Dronivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked once near Pereizne.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, 11 attacks were recorded near Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar, and toward Predtechyne.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 52 enemy assaults near Nikanorivka, Mayak, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Horikhove, and Dachne.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out 22 attacks near Zelenyi Hai, Filiya, Oleksandrohrad, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka, Verbove, Oleksiivka, Vyshneve, and Novovasylivske.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy advance near Okhotnychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, six attacks were repelled near Stepove, toward Novoandriivka and Novodanilivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy made three unsuccessful attempts to advance.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive groupings were observed.
"Our soldiers inflict significant losses on enemy personnel and equipment and actively degrade the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear," the military added.
Russian losses
Over the past day, Russian forces lost 910 personnel. Ukrainian troops also destroyed four tanks, one armored combat vehicle, 15 artillery systems, 359 operational-tactical UAVs, and 80 vehicles.
As of the evening of October 24, more than 120 combat engagements occurred along the front line in one day, with the Pokrovsk direction remaining the hottest spot.
