Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of Оctober 7

A total of 174 combat engagements have taken place along the entire front line since the beginning of the day. Ukrainian defenders are firmly repelling attempts by Russian forces to advance deeper into Ukrainian territory, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces have carried out one missile strike and 46 airstrikes today, dropping 82 guided aerial bombs and launching 2,229 kamikaze drones, as well as 3,730 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
Frontlines update
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled six assault attempts by Russian troops. The enemy also launched seven airstrikes, dropping 10 guided bombs, and conducted 164 attacks, including six using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
In the South Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched 28 assaults near Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Tykhe, Ambarne, Kamianka, Bolohivka, Zapadne, Krasne Pershe, Dovhenke, and towards Kolodiazne, Dvorichanske, and Kutkivka. Three clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops launched an attack near Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Novoplatonivka, Pishchane, and Stepova Novoselivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled four attacks, while three battles continue.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched nine assaults near Serednie, Shandryholove, Novoselivka, Derylove, and Torske; three engagements are still in progress.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled nine attacks near Yampil, Hryhorivka, Vyimka, and Serebrianka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, no offensive actions were reported.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched 17 assaults near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka. Ukrainian troops successfully halted all advances, though one engagement remains ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted to advance 37 times since the start of the day, attacking Ukrainian positions near Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Sukhetske, Myroliubivka, Nove Shakhove, Ivanivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, Horikhove, Dachne, and Filiia, and towards Novopavlivka. One battle continues.
Preliminary data indicate that 144 Russian soldiers were neutralized in this direction today, 99 of them irreversibly. Ukrainian troops also destroyed one vehicle, one piece of special equipment, and 15 drones; they additionally struck three vehicles and 10 personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russia tried 27 times to break through near Zaporizhzhia, Oleksandrohrad, Sichneve, Novoselivka, Novoheorhiivka, Sosnivka, Vorone, Kalinivske, Novohryhorivka, Voskresenka, Oleksiivka, Stepove, Berezove, and Novoivanivka. Four clashes are ongoing.
In the Hulyaipole direction, Russian forces attempted 11 assaults near Poltavka and Malynivka, but were repelled. Zaliznychne came under an airstrike.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled seven attacks near Plavni, Stepove, and towards Stepnohirsk and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces made three unsuccessful attempts to improve their positions and conducted an airstrike on Sadove.
According to the General Staff, Russian occupying forces lost 1,020 personnel in the past 24 hours. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, total Russian losses are estimated at 1,117,360 troops.
