Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 30

Since September 30, a total of 137 combat engagements have taken place along the front line. Russian forces are attacking in nearly all directions, with the heaviest fighting reported near Pokrovsk, according to the Facebook post of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, today Russian forces carried out 31 airstrikes, dropping 55 guided bombs. In addition, they launched 1,552 kamikaze drones and conducted 2,733 strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
In the Northern Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops repelled five assaults; fighting is still ongoing. Russian forces also launched 10 airstrikes with 19 guided bombs and carried out 117 attacks, including nine with multiple launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian troops three times attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk and Kam’yanka.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces conducted offensive operations near Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, and Pishchane. Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks, while two clashes are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 13 times near Shandryholove, Novomykhailivka, Hrekivka, Kolodiazi, Yampilivka, and toward Drobysheve. One battle continues.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six assaults as Russian forces tried to advance toward Yampil, Dronivka, and the Serebrianka area.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Defense Forces repelled three attacks near Bila Hora and toward Predtechyne.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops launched 13 assaults near Toretsk, Dyliivka, Yablunivka, Katerynivka, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka, all of which were successfully repelled.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the most intense fighting continues: Russian forces have attempted to advance 42 times since the start of the day near Volodymyrivka, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Orikhove, and Filiya. Some battles are still ongoing.
Preliminary data indicate that in this direction alone, 138 Russian soldiers were neutralized (including 82 irrecoverable losses). Ukrainian forces also destroyed five vehicles and 15 UAVs, and hit two cars and five personnel shelters.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces made 20 attempts to break through Ukrainian defenses near Zelenyi Hai, Piddubne, Vorone, Sosnivka, Sichneve, Kalynivske, Ternove, Ol’hivske, and Novohrhorivka, with three clashes still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one assault near Poltavka.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three attacks near Plavni and toward Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Russian forces made five unsuccessful attempts to approach Ukrainian positions.
Russian losses in war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 1,110,560 troops.
In the past 24 hours alone, Russian losses amounted to 970 soldiers. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 4 tanks, 1 armored combat vehicle, 27 artillery systems, 1 helicopter, 301 drones, and other enemy equipment.
