Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of September 5

Since the beginning of September 5, 103 combat engagements have occurred on the front. Russian forces are attacking across almost all directions, with the heaviest fighting in Pokrovsk, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions: Four combat engagements have occurred since the start of the day, two of which are ongoing. In addition, the enemy carried out eight airstrikes, dropping 12 guided bombs, and conducted 136 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including four with multiple-launch rocket systems. Ukrainian units carried out active operations and achieved success in certain areas.
Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction: The Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack, while another engagement is still ongoing. The enemy is attempting to advance near Vovchansk.
Kupiansk direction: Russian troops made six unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Kupiansk, Radkivka, Petropavlivka, and Kolisnykivka. Ukrainian units carried out active operations and achieved success in some areas.
Lyman direction: The invading army launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Andriivka, Druzhliubivka, Kolodiazi, Drobysheve, and toward Olhivka and Shandryholove. Four combat engagements are ongoing.
Siversk direction: The Defense Forces repelled three attacks, while four combat engagements continue. Enemy units attempted to advance near Hryhorivka, Serebrianka, Dronivka, and toward Dibrova.
Toretsk direction: The enemy carried out five assault operations near Pleshchiivka, Rusynyi Yar, and Poltavka. One engagement is still ongoing.
Pokrovsk direction: Russian forces attempted 26 times to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Shakhove, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Shevchenko, Promin, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, and toward Filiia and Novopavlivka. The Defense Forces have repelled 19 attacks so far, with seven engagements ongoing.
Novopavlivka direction: The enemy attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses near Oleksandrohrad, Voskresenka, Temyrivka, Shevchenko, Maliivka, and Komyshuvakha. Ukrainian forces repelled 15 enemy assaults, while six attacks are still ongoing.
Orikhiv direction: The Defense Forces repelled one enemy attack toward Stepnohirsk.
Prydniprovskyi direction: Enemy aviation carried out an airstrike near Olhivka.
Kramatorsk and Huliaipole directions: The enemy did not conduct offensive operations.
Other directions: No significant changes.
Russian losses in the war
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 1,085,410 servicemen.
In particular, over the past day, Russian forces suffered 840 casualties. Ukrainian fighters also destroyed 4 armored combat vehicles, 43 artillery systems, 2 multiple-launch rocket systems, 2 air defense systems, 261 drones, and other enemy equipment.
