As of 22:00 Kyiv time on September 2, a total of 122 combat engagements were recorded on the front over the past day. The heaviest fighting took place in the Lyman and Pokrovsk directions, according to the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy attacks

Today, the Russian army carried out 52 airstrikes and dropped 79 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians used 1,922 kamikaze drones and launched 3,344 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and settlements.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanske and Kursk directions, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks, while two more clashes are still ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out four airstrikes, dropping a total of 12 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 136 artillery strikes, including three with multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, our forces repelled six enemy attacks in the areas of Krasne Pershe and Vovchansk, while two more clashes are still ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out six offensive actions in the areas of Kupiansk and Petropavlivka. One battle is still underway.

In the Lyman direction, throughout the day, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions fifteen times near Hrekivka, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, and toward the settlement of Dronivka. Six clashes are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled twelve enemy attacks near Hryhorivka, Vyiimka, Serebrianka, and Fedorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, three combat engagements have been recorded so far. The invaders attempted to advance toward the settlements of Stupochky and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked the Defense Forces’ positions twelve times. The occupiers concentrated their main offensive efforts in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Yablunivka, and Poltavka. Three clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian units attempted to break through our defenses 23 times in the areas of Mayak, Novo Shakhove, Vilne, Dachne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Myrnohrad, Promin, Lysivka, Udachne, and toward Pokrovsk.

"Today, in this direction, Ukrainian warriors neutralized 110 Russian soldiers, 74 of them irreversibly. Four motorcycles, 80 unmanned aerial vehicles, and three artillery pieces were also destroyed, while four UAV control points were damaged," the report said.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy attacked seventeen times in the areas of Ivanivka, Novokhatske, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Oleksandrohrad, Burlatske, Sichneve, Shevchenko, Obratne, and toward Komyshuvakha. One enemy attack is still ongoing.

In the Hulyaipole and Orikhiv directions, the enemy has not carried out offensive actions since the beginning of the day.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy attacked three times toward Antonivka. The Defense Forces successfully repelled all enemy assaults. The settlement of Mykolaivka was hit by an airstrike.

In other directions, the situation has not undergone significant changes.

Russian army losses

The Russian forces continue to lose personnel and equipment daily in the course of fighting against Ukraine. Over the past day, from September 1 to 2, the enemy’s losses amounted to 800 soldiers, 53 artillery systems, 89 vehicles, as well as several other types of weapons.

Since the start of the full-scale war, Russian military losses have already reached nearly 1.1 million personnel.
