As of 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time on September 1, there have been 160 combat engagements on the front since the start of the day, 43 of which occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the report from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Fighting and attacks

Since the start of the day, there have been 160 combat clashes. The Russian army carried out 44 airstrikes, dropping 77 guided bombs. In addition, Russian forces deployed 1,960 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,665 strikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Frontline situation

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian forces repelled 10 Russian attacks. Since the start of the day, the enemy has carried out seven airstrikes, dropping 18 guided bombs, and launched 190 artillery strikes, three of which involved multiple rocket launcher systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) repelled six enemy attacks in the areas of Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and in the direction of Nova Kruhliakivka and Novoplatonivka.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out 14 offensive actions in the areas of Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, and Stepova Novoselivka.

In the Lyman direction, over the past day, Russian forces attacked AFU positions 19 times in the areas of Kolodiazi, Zarichne, and toward Karpivka, Shandryholove, Yampil, Dronivka, and Serebrianka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled 11 enemy attacks near Hryhorivka and in the direction of Serebrianka and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, six clashes have been recorded so far. The Russian army is trying to advance toward the settlements of Minkivka, Mykolaivka, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces unsuccessfully attacked Defense Forces positions seven times. The main offensive efforts of the Russian forces were concentrated in the areas of Shcherbynivka, in the direction of Pleshchiivka, Nelipivka, and Rusynyi Yar.

In the Pokrovsk direction, enemy units attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 43 times in the areas of Volodymyrivka, Zapovidne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, and Dachne, toward Balahanu, Promen, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, and Pokrovsk.

“Today in this direction, Ukrainian soldiers neutralized 144 Russian soldiers, of whom 74 were irreversibly eliminated,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Additionally, five vehicles, eight motorcycles, an artillery system, a UAV control point, three unmanned aerial vehicles, and two shelters for personnel were destroyed. Two artillery systems, two UAV control points, and five shelters for enemy personnel were also damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy launched 18 attacks in the areas of Zelenyi Hai, Tolstyi, Piddubne, Maliivka, Shevchenko, and in the directions of Filiia, Ivanivka, Iskra, Oleksandrohrad, Novoselivka, and Komyshuvakha.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian army attacked once, and they tried to advance toward Plavni.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy carried out three unsuccessful attacks.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Russian army is attempting to break through the front in the Sumy, Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions, but so far without success.
