The situation on the front remains tense. Over the past day, more than 170 combat engagements occurred, and Ukrainian forces eliminated an additional 850 enemy personnel, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Day 1,284 of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. Ukrainian defenders are firmly holding back the enemy’s advance while inflicting significant losses. In total, 172 combat engagements were recorded over the past day," the General Staff noted.

According to the military, on August 29 the enemy carried out one missile strike and 76 air strikes, using 4 missiles and dropping 131 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they conducted 4,476 artillery strikes, including 48 from multiple rocket launcher systems, and deployed 5,660 kamikaze drones.

The aggressor carried out air strikes on populated areas, including:

  • Krenidivka, Sumy region;
  • Bilohirya, Zaporizhzhia region;
  • Lvove and Olhivka, Kherson region.

Situation by directions

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, three combat engagements occurred over the past day. The enemy carried out three air strikes, dropped three guided bombs, and conducted 158 artillery strikes, including six from multiple rocket launcher systems.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched eight assaults on Ukrainian positions near Hlyboke, Prylipky, Vovchansk, and toward Fyholivka and Kutkivka.

In the Kupiansk direction, five attacks by enemy forces were recorded. Ukrainian defenders repelled the assaults near Zahryzove and in the direction of Kupiansk.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out 29 attacks, attempting to break through Ukrainian defenses near Karpivka, Kolodyazi, Zarichne, Yampil, and toward Olhivka, Druzhlyubivka, Shandryholove, Dronivka, Serebrianka, and Hryhorivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled four enemy attacks near Hryhorivka and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked twice toward Stupochky and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out 13 attacks near Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Dyliivka, and toward Kleban-Byk, Katerynivka, Rusynyi Yar, and Poltavka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 50 enemy assault actions near Volodymyrivka, Mayak, Zapovidne, Sukhetske, Zatyshok, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoukrainka, and toward Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlivka.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the enemy carried out 31 attacks near Voskresenka, Maliivka, Zaporizke, and toward Filiya, Oleksandrohrad, and Novoivanivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, enemy forces attempted one assault near Stepove.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian troops repelled three attacks.

No combat engagements were recorded on the Huliaipole and Volyn–Polissia directions, and there were no signs of enemy offensive groupings forming there.

Russian losses on the front

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery targeted three enemy concentration areas of personnel, weapons, and equipment, as well as a command post and four artillery systems.

Ukrainian forces inflicted significant losses on Russian troops and equipment, actively undermining the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear. Overall, Russian losses over the past day totaled 850 personnel.

Ukrainian troops also destroyed:

  • 6 tanks
  • 19 armored combat vehicles
  • 47 artillery systems
  • 316 operational-tactical drones
  • 106 enemy vehicles
