Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 9

In the past 24 hours, 163 combat clashes were recorded on the front lines. Russia launched two missile strikes and 74 air raids, using three missiles and 122 guided bombs, as well as over 5,000 kamikaze drones, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, the aggressor carried out two missile and 74 air strikes, dropping 122 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, 5,089 kamikaze drones were deployed, and 6,361 artillery shellings were conducted.
The enemy targeted air strikes, including areas of Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia, as well as Olhivka in Kherson region.
The Ukrainian Air Force’s aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck back, hitting three enemy command posts, one artillery system, five personnel and equipment concentration areas, as well as one other important enemy target.
Directions of hostilities
Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions — 12 clashes, 15 air strikes with 38 guided bombs, and 259 artillery shellings, including 11 with multiple rocket launchers.
Southern-Slobozhanskyi — nine battles near Vovchansk and Novovasylivka.
Kupiansk direction — seven attacks near Myrne, Kupiansk, Holubivka, and Nova Krugliakivka.
Lyman direction — 24 attacks near Hrekivka, Karpivka, Zarichne, Kolodiazi, Torske, Dibrova, Serebrianka, Yampolivka, and in the directions of Shandryholove and Yampil.
Siversk direction — two attacks near Hryhorivka and Fedorivka.
Kramatorsk direction — four battles near Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora.
Toretsk direction — 10 attacks near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Stepanivka, Rusynyi Yar, and Pleshchiivka.
Pokrovsk direction — 45 attacks near Zvirove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Poltavka, Boikivka, Myroliubivka, Novoekonomichne, Pokrovsk, Chervonyi Lyman, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoukrainka, Zelenyi Kut, as well as in the directions of Kozatske, Dorozhne, and Novopavlivka.
Novopavlivka direction — 26 attacks near Filiya, Zelenyi Poly, Tolste, Temyrivka, Maliivka, Novopil, Voskresenka, Olhivske, and in the direction of Sichne.
Huliaipole direction — repelled an assault near Malynivka.
Orikhiv direction — four attacks near Kamianske and toward Novoandriivka.
Prydniprovskyi direction — eight attacks with no success for the enemy.
Volyn and Polissya directions — no signs of enemy offensive groups detected.
Russian losses
It should be recalled that in the past 24 hours, Russian occupiers’ losses amounted to 940 personnel.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed five tanks, one armored combat vehicle, 41 artillery systems, one air defense system, 147 operational-tactical level unmanned aerial vehicles, and 125 enemy vehicles.
