Over the last day, July 17, 180 combat engagements took place on the frontline. Russian troops put the most pressure on the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a drone control center, an air defense facility, an artillery system and another important target of the Russian invaders," Ukraine's General Staff writes.

Sectors

In the North-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk sectors, 21 combat engagements took place yesterday.

In the South-Slobozhanskyi sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks near the towns of Vovchansk, Zelene, and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, 4 Russian attacks took place in the vicinity of Kupiansk, Zelenyi Hai, Nova Kruhliakivka, and in the direction of Pishchane.

In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 30 times, trying to advance near the settlements of Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodyazi, Serebrianka, and others.

In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 Russian attacks by the occupation forces near Hryhorivka and Vyimka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, 13 firefights were registered in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bila Hora, and Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia carried out 9 attacks near Shcherbynivka, Oleksandr-Kalynove, Petrivka, Rusyn Yar, and in the direction of Pleshchiyivka and Katerynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 61 Russian attacks in the areas of Poltavka, Popiv Yar, Rodynske, Novotoretske, Myroliubivka, and other localities.

In the Novopavlivka sector, 17 Russian attempts to break through the defensive lines in the areas of Piddubne, Zirka, Temyrivka, Myrne, Voskresenka, Vilne Pole, Shevchenko, and Zelene Pole were repelled.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully stopped a Russian attack near Mala Tokmachka.

Russia's losses in war

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost almost 1.04 million manpower. Over the past day alone, Russian losses amounted to another 1,180 soldiers. Ukrainian Defense Forces also neutralized 3 tanks, 9 armored fighting vehicles, 47 artillery systems, and one multiple launch rocket system.
