Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of July 12

Russian forces have intensified assaults in eastern and southern Ukraine. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled hundreds of attacks and continue to hold defense lines on all fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops engaged in 186 combat clashes with Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The enemy launched 75 airstrikes, dropped 135 guided bombs, carried out 5,535 shelling attacks — including 80 from multiple rocket launcher systems—and deployed 3,390 kamikaze drones.
Key enemy strikes and losses
Russian airstrikes targeted the following populated areas:

Kharkiv region: Velykyi Burluk, Perovs’ke, Odradne, Vil’khuvatka

Donetsk region: Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Novopavlivka, Suvorove, Pokrovsk

Dnipropetrovsk region: Sichneve, Velykomykhailivka

Zaporizhzhia region: Poltavka, Huliaipole, Prymorske, Novoandriivka

Kherson region: Lvove, Olhivka
In response, Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck seven enemy personnel and equipment concentration areas, as well as two artillery systems.
Situation by directions
Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions — 17 clashes. The enemy carried out eight airstrikes, dropping 15 bombs. There were 359 shellings, including six with multiple rocket launcher systems (MLRS).
Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction — eight assaults near Zelenyi, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and toward Petro-Ivanivka.
Kupiansk direction — eight attacks near Stepova Novoselivka, Holubivka, Zahryzove, and Pishchane.
Lyman direction — the most intense fighting with 34 attacks near Novohehorivka, Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Karpivka, Serednie, Hlushchenkove, Kolodiazi, and toward Shandryholove, Torske, and Serebrianka.
Siversk direction — five attacks near Ivano-Daryivka and Verkhniokamianske.
Kramatorsk direction — four clashes near Predtechyne, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.
Toretsk direction — 11 attacks near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Rusynyi Yar, Yablunivka, Pleshchiivka, and Katerynivka.
Pokrovsk direction — the highest number of attacks: 63 clashes near Popovyi Yar, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Promin, Novosergiivka, Udachne, Muravka, Novoukrainka, Dachne, Kotlyne, Horikhove, Oleksiivka, Malynivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, as well as toward Pokrovsk, Serhiivka, and Rodynske.
Novopavlivka direction — 15 attacks near Zaporizhzhia, Tolste, Piddubne, Komar, Voskresenka, Novopil, Novosilka, and Zelenyi Pol.
Huliaipole direction — no offensive actions from Russian forces.
Orikhiv direction — one repelled attack near Kamianske.
Prydniprovskyi direction — six unsuccessful breakthrough attempts by the enemy.
Volyn and Polissia directions — no signs of strike group formation detected.
Enemy losses
Ukrainian forces continue to inflict significant losses on the occupiers in personnel and equipment, actively undermining their offensive potential in the rear.
Yesterday, Russian forces lost approximately 1,070 personnel.
Additionally, Ukrainian troops destroyed one armored combat vehicle, 31 artillery systems, 245 operational-tactical drones, and 90 enemy vehicles.
