As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on July 1, a total of 112 combat engagements took place along the frontline over the day, with several directions seeing the most intense fighting, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian attacks

According to the General Staff, the Russian military launched one missile strike and 39 airstrikes during the day, using two missiles and 73 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 882 Shahed-type kamikaze drones and conducted nearly 4,000 attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.

Frontlines update

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, 16 clashes with Russian forces were recorded, two of which were ongoing at the time of reporting. Russia carried out 12 airstrikes with 26 guided bombs and shelled positions 256 times, including two MLRS attacks.

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Russian forces launched 12 attacks in areas near Vovchansk, Zelenyi, Milove, Kamianka, and toward Ambarne. Four battles were still underway.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops attacked eight times near Radkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Synkivka, Holubivka, Zahryzove, Zelenyi Hai, and toward Novosynove.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops launched 18 assaults near Kopanky, Novyi Myr, Seredne, Zelena Dolyna, Kolodiazi, Novovodiane, Hrekivka, Ridkodub, Myrne, and toward Serebrianka. One engagement was still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled eight enemy assaults in the areas of Bilohorivka and toward Hryhorivka and Vyiimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one attack near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched two assaults near Leonidivka and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian troops carried out 29 assault and offensive operations throughout the day near Myrne, Popiv Yar, Koptieve, Lysivka, Novosergiivka, Muravka, Orikhove, and Oleksiivka. Fighting continued in three areas.

"According to preliminary estimates, today our soldiers eliminated 118 and wounded 84 Russian troops in this direction. They also destroyed 11 vehicles, eight motorcycles, five UAVs, two satellite communication terminals, a UAV antenna, a UAV command post, and four personnel shelters. Additionally, four artillery systems were damaged," the General Staff reported.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces launched 14 attacks attempting to advance near the settlements of Perebudova, Piddubne, Vesele, Maliivka, Shevchenko, and Novopil. One battle remained ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near the village of Kamianske.

No significant changes were reported on other fronts.

Russian losses

Between June 30 and July 1, Russian forces lost 970 personnel in combat. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 36 artillery systems, 144 drones, and 103 vehicles.

As of now, Russia’s total military personnel losses since February 24, 2022, have exceeded 1 million.
