As of 10:00 PM Kyiv time on June 28, the situation on the front lines remains tense. Understandably so, as Ukrainian forces repelled more than a hundred attacks over the past day. The heaviest pressure from Russian forces is being exerted in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of June 28, Ukrainian troops have repelled 111 attacks by Russian forces. Russia massively used guided aerial bombs, kamikaze drones, and artillery, trying to break through the defense in different directions.

In addition, during the day, they launched more than 50 airstrikes and carried out over 4,000 artillery shellings. As a result of the attacks, both the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilian infrastructure were affected, including Pokrovsk and several frontline settlements.

The fiercest battles are currently taking place in the Pokrovsk direction, where the forces have carried out more than 30 assault actions.

Heavy fighting is also ongoing in the Lyman, Northern-Slobozhanskyi, and Kupiansk directions - Russia continues to advance.

Frontline updates

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled six attacks near Vovchansk and Stroivka; two more battles are ongoing.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces tried six times to dislodge our units from positions near Holubivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zelenyi Hai – fighting is still ongoing there.

In the Lyman direction, Russia carried out sixteen attacks, trying to advance near the settlements of Nadiia, Novoyehorivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Yampilivka, Hrekivka, Torske, and also in the direction of Serebrianka and Hryhorivka. Four battles are still underway. In addition, Pidlyman was affected by an airstrike with guided bombs.

In the Siversk direction, our soldiers stopped seven attacks near Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, and in the direction of Vyiimka; one more battle is ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled three attempts to advance in the area of Chasiv Yar and towards Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russia tried eight times to break through our defense near Kurdiumivka, Toretsk, Leonidivka, and in the direction of Yablunivka.

Losses of Russian army

Over the past day, from June 27 to 28, the Russian army lost another 1,000 soldiers in battles against Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine also destroyed many artillery systems, drones, and vehicles.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, losses of the Russian army amount to over 1 million personnel.
