As of 10:00 PM on June 8, there had been 144 combat engagements along the front since the beginning of the day. The heaviest fighting was reported in the Kursk and Pokrovsk directions, according to the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian strikes

Throughout the day, Russian forces launched 1 missile strike and 60 airstrikes, using 1 missile, 91 guided aerial bombs (KABs), 1,252 Shahed-type drones, and conducted 4,246 attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

Frontline updates

In the Kharkiv direction, no combat engagements were reported.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 4 times near Stepova Novoselivka and Zahryzove, but were unsuccessful.

In the Lyman direction, 15 combat engagements occurred near Hrekivka, Novyi Myr, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, and in the areas of Cherneshchyna, Torske, and Serebrianske.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy launched 4 assaults near Hryhorivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Vyiimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russians tried 5 times to advance toward Bila Hora, Predtechyne, and around Kurdiumivka.

In the Toretsk direction, 9 attacks were repelled near Dachne, Diliivka, Toretsk, and toward Yablunivka. Six battles are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian lines 41 times near Myroliubivka, Malynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zvirrove, Udachne, Orikhove, Andriivka, and toward Myrne, Mykolaivka, Novosergiivka, and Oleksiivka. Ukrainian forces repelled 38 attacks, and 3 combat engagements are still in progress. In this area, 157 Russian troops were neutralized (99 killed), along with 9 vehicles, 6 motorcycles, 12 drones, and 4 communications antennas. One motorcycle was damaged.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold back Russian troops near Bahatyr, Odradne, Rivnopil, Novosilka, Novopil, Vilne Pole, and toward Zaporizhzhia, Voskresenka, and Shevchenko. Nineteen engagements took place, 6 of which are ongoing.

In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces halted 2 Russian attempts to advance near Malynivka. Clashes are still underway.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled 3 Russian attempts to push toward Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russians made 2 unsuccessful offensive attempts.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 27 attacks. Two engagements are still ongoing.

Russian losses

Between June 8 and 9, Russian forces lost another 1,120 troops in Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, their total losses have exceeded 996,000 personnel. Additionally, one Russian aircraft and numerous pieces of military equipment were destroyed in the last 24 hours.
